VISITING US:

LOCATION:                  The entrance to the Old Dubbo Gaol is located just off Macquarie Street, near the old clock tower and Commonwealth Bank.

HOURS OF DUTY:         9:00am to 4:00pm everyday, except Christmas Day.   Last General Admissions at 4:00pm.

Theatrical Performances & Guided Tours:
Experience life behind the gaol walls with our many different characters. Be berated by one of the strict wardens, or pick-pocketed
by our cunning prisoners.  Join in on the fun of the prisoner cooking classes or help in a daring escape attempt.
No matter what, it’s ensured you and your family will enjoy their time being locked up with the prisoners and wardens of the Old Dubbo Gaol.

NSW School Term;
Monday to Friday:
     Guided Tour - 3:00pm
Saturday & Sunday:
     Characters In Costume - 10:00am
     Guided Tour - 11:00am, 2:00pm, 3:00pm

NSW School Holidays;
Monday to Sunday:
     Characters In Costume - 10:00am
     Guided Tour - 11:00am, 2:00pm, 3:00pm

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to theatrical displays to ensure you don't miss out on the fun!

GAOL TOURS:

Day Self Guided Tours:    Approx. 1 - 1½ hours
A Self Guided tour that allows you to gain an in-depth insight into the penal system of the 1800s.
Explore the restored gaol grounds, new displays and experience the harshness of prison life as you travel back in time.
Meet, hear and see the Condemned Man, the Ghost of the Gaol and view original and rare Gaol artefacts.
This Self Guided tour takes about an hour and thirty minutes, but you are free to stay as long as you like.
No bookings required.

Don't miss this opportunity to become a 19th century prisoner for the evening, touring in the ominous atmosphere of
night that offers chilling facts and frights with a theatrical twist!
What better way to experience Old Dubbo Gaol than in the dead of night!
Bookings are essential. Pre-Booked Groups and School Holiday Sessions only.
Sessions released 2-3 weeks prior to next NSW School Holidays.

Twilight Tour:     Approx. 1.5 hours    
Our 'NEW' Twilight Tours have been especially designed for families. They are a fun night time activity that everyone can enjoy - even mum and dad!
Includes: Twilight Tour and Entry as well Full Day Entry on the same date or the following date of selected session only.

Moonlight Tour:     Approx. 1.5 hours
Our 'NEW' Moonlight Tours have been especially designed for those wanting the true and dark side of the of those that once walked in these prison walls. 
An Adults only tour. Participants must be at least 16 years of age.
Includes: Moonlight Tour and Entry as well Full Day Entry on the same date or the following date of selected session only.
